Services

ICAS prepares Assessment Reports that describe the education completed outside Canada and provide the comparable level of education here. Assessments are prepared for all levels of education – secondary, postsecondary and technical.

The report you receive will help the college to make an informed decision about your application for admission. The report can also be used for employment, immigration to Canada, application to other educational institutions, application for United States TN Visa and registration with some professional regulatory bodies.

Assessment Reports

General Report (also known as a document-by-document assessment)

The General Report describes the education completed and suggests the Ontario equivalency for each credential.

This type of report is recommended if you are applying to a Graduate Certificate program or any program that requires a postsecondary diploma or degree for admission.

Please note that this type of report does not contain any information about the courses completed nor the comparable credit value or grade for each course.

Secondary School Comprehensive Report (also known as secondary school course-by-course)

The Secondary School Comprehensive Report describes the education completed outside Canada at a level comparable to the secondary school level in Ontario and suggests the Ontario equivalency. This report also provides a list of all courses/subjects completed at a level comparable to the grade 12 level in Ontario with the equivalent credit values and grades.

This type of report is recommended for you if you are applying to a Certificate, Diploma, Advanced Diploma or a degree program which requires grade 12 courses for admission.

Please note that this type of report does not contain any information about study completed at the postsecondary level and is not suitable for you if you are applying for advanced standing or a fast track program.

Postsecondary Comprehensive Report (also known as course-by-course)

The Postsecondary Comprehensive Report describes the postsecondary education completed outside Canada, suggests the Ontario equivalency for each credential and provides a list of all postsecondary courses/subjects completed with both the equivalent credit value and grade.

This type of report is recommended if you are applying to a Fast Track / Accelerated program and require evidence of a postsecondary diploma or degree and specific courses at the postsecondary level.

Additional Qualification

The Assessment Report you receive will include only appropriate credentials submitted at the time of application. If you send additional qualifications at a later date additional fees will be required to add this information to your Assessment Report and to transmit this information electronically to the colleges.

Updated Report (for applicants currently enrolled in a program outside Canada only)

If you are currently enrolled in a program outside Canada, the college may require that you submit both interim and final grades. Please contact the college to determine whether interim grades are required. If you apply for a report on the basis of interim grades, and later submit final grades, there will be an additional fee to update your report.
